Hi Chris. I agree that Dropbox is a great tool. We would be lost without it. The monkeys are kind of strict.

Not that a 10 Monk Salute isn't a big deal, but Monkeys 11 & 12 must have been dozing in the trees if they didn't vote for this one. Dropbox is a great tool for all the above reasons ... plus one more. It makes a great portfolio platform from which to share your work. I have followed up on job interviews by loading the executable files for an applicable project to a Dropbox folder. Then I invited the hiring manager to view it by granting access to his e-mail address. Makes even a Monkey like me look like a pro.

Hi,

Its very much helpfull. I have on doubt, when we are checking the course from the web servers there is chance of getting delay in the audio file. Is there a way to overcome this problem?, means of preloading the audio?

Thanks

You've hit on my loves and dislikes of this product! The loves outweigh the dislikes, but not being able to name the output files/folders...UGH.
If you come up with a way to hide the title bar, please let me know. Currently I set the font to the color of the slide so it fades into the background, but I would really like to get rid of it altogether to have more real estate to play with.

Thanks for this article , Rick. It's a very good reminder to us to "cut to the chase" to use another movie metaphor. In my design I try to envisage the learner saying at each frame "Where are you taking me?" and ensuring that they can see where they are going. I got the phrase "Where are you taking me?" from a movie too. I don't remember the film's name, but in it Sean Connery plays a reclusive writer who comes to advise a young man who wants to be a good writer.

Hi Ingrid. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. There are so many kids games that incorporate this technique. Most of my examples will be on console games for the Xbox or Nintendo systems. Games like Zelda, Viva Pinata, Knights of the Old Republic all have ways to educate you of what you should do next by stopping you while you are in the the story briefly and giving you instructions at the point where you need it. Almost any game does that these days. Maybe have tutorial levels, like training grounds where you have a character telling you what you need to do.

Well put, and I fully agree with you. The movie analogy really helps put things in perspective.
